Stop Script and Gentle Shutdown

PCIe-GL26 is a computer in a PCIe form factor equipped with OS.

The stop script installed on the host computer aims to provide PCIe-GL26 with a graceful shutdown to assure OS integrity. On the other hand, a hard shutdown always implies the risk of OS corruption.

According to our internal test of the on/off test with the hard shutdown for thousand times, the OS corruption probability of PCIe-GL26 is about 0.05% (1 / 2000 times).

Once the OS corruption, PCIe-GL26 will need a reflash for OS recovery. To reflash Xavier NX, the customer will have to disassemble the host computer to make the micro USB connector and DIP switch of PCIe-GL26 accessible.

To complete a rugged system architecture, we suggest the customer add Neousys SuperCAP UPS to enable both the host computer and PCIe-GL26 with a gentle shutdown to assure OS integrity.
