Using FARO-FD700 on JetPack 5.x

Steps

• Place the FARO-FD700 in an mPCIe slot. Remember to change the DIP switch configuration based on your termination usage.

  
• Check if the hardware is properly recognized using the following commands.

• Download the driver from NRU NAS [link]. Please contact your sales representative for the unzip password.

• Assuming the file is downloaded on the Desktop and socketCAN is the approach you are seeking.

unzip FARO-FD700.zip 

cd ~/Desktop/FARO-FD700/Linux/SocketCAN/1.1
sudo tar xvf socketCAN.tgz

cd ~/Desktop/FARO-FD700/Linux/SocketCAN/1.1/socketCAN/driver
make

cd ~/Desktop/FARO-FD700/Linux/SocketCAN/1.1/socketCAN/utility
make

cd ~/Desktop/FARO-FD700/Linux/SocketCAN/1.1/socketCAN
./start

• Then you can use candump and cansend for a quick test with farofd_can0 and farofd_can1 connected via a female-to-female DB9 adapter.
