After getting a PCIe-PoE572bt/ PCIe-N572, the first thing is to assemble the Heatsink.
As for the PCIe-PoE572bt, please assemble the heatsink with fan. You can connect the fan cable first and the screw it up.
As for the PCIe-N572, please assemble the heatsink w/o fan.
Do not forget to check if the board is screwed up. It would affect the heat dissipation.
Q: Can we release HS to use NIC?
A: No, if you release heatsink to use NIC, the device temperature would rise very fast and the FW might not work.
( Please install heatsink or use fan to cool down the NIC )
