Backup & Recover System Image

We have verified the following method to backup NVMe storage of Orin NX, based on NVIDIA's feedback [linkarrow-up-right] on the existing ./tools/backup_restore/l4t_backup_restore.sh

The modified NVMe backup tool could be found inside our latest tarball for PCIe-NX150.

The Orin NX 8GB backup file can only applied to another Orin NX 8GB. An Orin NX 8GB backup file can't apply to Orin NX 16GB module.

Prerequisites

  • A host computer with L4T environment, e.g., JetPack 5.1.1

  • The latest PCIe-NX150 tarball (e.g., nx150_2023-04-27_1318.tar.gz), which could be downloaded from NRU NAS.

  • Untar the PCIe-NX150 tarball in L4T folder. You will find a new folder /tools/backup_restore_nvme

To Backup a System Image

  • Put PCIe-NX150 into recovery mode

  • Connect PCIe-NX150 and the host computer with USB to microUSB cable

  • On host computer, enter the following command

cd $L4T
sudo ./tools/backup_restore_nvme/l4t_backup_restore.sh -b nx150

To Restore a System Image

  • Put PCIe-NX150 into recovery mode

  • Connect PCIe-NX150 and the host computer with USB to microUSB cable

  • On host computer, enter the following
